Mission, Vision, & Values

Every year, thousands of children in Oklahoma are removed from their homes because of evidence of abuse and neglect. They are uprooted from the only family they’ve known, taken out of school and away from friends. In short, their worlds are turned upside down. Going through the child welfare system is scary and no child should do it alone.
‍
OUR MISSION
To speak for the best interests of abused and neglected children in juvenile courts in northeast Oklahoma. We promote and support quality volunteer representation for children to provide each child with a safe, permanent, and nurturing home.
‍
CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to watch over and speak up for abused and neglected children to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service systems or languish in the foster care system. CASA volunteers stay with each child until he or she is placed in a safe, permanent home and the case is closed. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer is the one constant in their lives and often, the one adult who cares only for them.

OUR VISION
Every abused and neglected child has a CASA volunteer appointed to represent his/her best interests.

Our Values

Adaptability
We embrace the challenge of ongoing change: in the environment, in the demands and expectations placed on us, and in the needs of our local program. We strive to adapt in order to respond thoughtfully to new conditions and circumstances as they arise.
Collaboration
CASA of Northeast Oklahoma is part of a greater CASA network. Success in meeting our mission comes from unity and collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders.
Integrity
We strive to be honest, transparent, and fair. We address problems directly, express appreciation, and celebrate the successes of those we work with and serve. Continuous improvement is our goal.
Service
We respond to the needs of our volunteers and remove obstacles when we can. We contribute to the larger, national network of CASA whenever possible. We respond to requests from stakeholders and contributors and support one another as we work to fulfill our mission.
Respect
We respect differences and embrace diversity. We will be inclusive, welcoming, and assume the best in those we work with.
Quality
We pursue excellence in all we do, desiring continuous growth and development. We support all volunteers, and encourage learning and personal development as they provide advocacy for abused and neglected children.
Stewardship
We are faithful to our mission and values, making decisions in the best interest of the organization and the children our program serves. CASA of Northeast Oklahoma strategically and responsibly manages the resources with which we have been entrusted.
Caring
We shepherd vulnerable human beings through difficult circumstances toward a hope-filled future. We prioritize self-care and our need for rest and renewal. We cannot give away what we do not have. By filling our own cup first, others may be refreshed by our comforting presence in the midst of human suffering.
